New State Record and Second U.S. Occurrence

During the Annual Texas Butterfly Festival Bob Behrstock and Josh Rose were leading a dragonfly walk at Anzaludas County Park and found a number of species despite less than desirable weather. Among these were two female Triacanthagyna septima representing a new Texas record and the second U.S. occurrence. This species was first reported from Florida in 2003 (Harp 2003). Two of Bob''s photographs of this new record are below. This species is widely distributed throughout Latin America. Folks in the Lower Rio Grande Valley should keep there eyes out for more of this and other potentially new species.
