Welcome to the website for the Dragonfly Society of the Americas. The DSA was founded in 1988 by several U.S. Odonatologist and enthusiastsIt and became officially a not for profit corporation in 2002. On these pages you will find information on the activities of the DSA and its members through the societies two publications, Argia (News Journal of DSA) and the Bulletin of American Odonatology (peer-reviewed scientific articles). Although membership consists primarily of US odonatologists, the society serves all of North, Central and South America. It is open to anyone in the world, however, who has an interest in dragonflies and damselflies. The name was changed from the "Dragonfly Society of America" to the "Dragonfly Society of the Americas" to promote and welcome membership from Central and South America, as well as the rest of North America.
